Keep on going…

I guess I’m over the initial shock and I’m moving on. What else to do? Nobody died so we’re all good! I’m working on my other site and close to launch. More about this later. By now my parents should be back in the Netherlands. I bet they already miss the good LA weather. It was 77 (25 degrees celsius) when they left and I see it’s a ‘freezing’ 44 (7c) in their hometown. Welcome back! Work related: I moved into a new department and it’s very exciting! My official title is SEO Developer. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization and I’m the person who makes sure that your website can be found in various search engines. Here is Wikipedia’s definition:

Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume and quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via “natural” (”organic” or “algorithmic”) search results for targeted keywords. Usually, the earlier a site is presented in the search results, or the higher it “ranks”, the more searchers will visit that site. SEO can also target different kinds of search, including image search, local search, and industry-specific vertical search engines.

My other blog as I mentioned before will be all about SEO, SEM and web marketing. Boring for most but I know I will have a very interesting year.
