    So what’s new and exciting?

Well… it’s mainly work related at this point. The New Year started of with a bang which means a bunch of workload on my desk at the dental website design company I work for. Given the current state of the economy not a bad thing but it’s eating up my weekends as well. Again, not a terrible thing but it also keeps me away of updating this blog. So finally a little spot in my schedule to give you an update.

Saturday we will be in Oakland. Our best friends Jason and Cindy getting married and A. is one of the bride maids. They will go shopping for a dress which means Jason and I will chill out in Oaktown! Since I’m shopping around for a netbook we probably will be roaming the city for this little gadget. I’m really drawn to the HP mini 1000 MI edition and apparently it’s only available at HP’s online store. We’ll see if we can find it somewhere.

So far the weather’s been pretty forgiving with temperatures in the lower 70′s but yesterday it finally started to rain. And rain is what we need. It’s been so dry here in NorCal and this could mean some potential problems later this year. California is notorious when it comes to water meaning no water at all…

Other then this I’m consistently working on my two other sites, richardlemon.com and eightdegree.com. Another reason I neglected this blog. Too bad a day has only 24 hours…

Oh yes, before I forget: mom, you can see my twitter updates here and here. The second one is mainly SEO orientated so not much of a fun to read…

    Boston Globe: the Big Picture

One of my favorite blogs/newssite is the Boston Globe’s the Big Picture.

With its vibrant oversized photographs and minimalist design, the Boston Globe’s The Big Picture weblog launched on June 1 to instant global acclaim. It’s designed, programmed, and written by Alan Taylor, an old-school web programmer and blogger, in his spare time while working on community features at Boston.com.

Read the interview with Alan Taylor, creator of the Big Picture. Pretty neat stuff…

    Blogging from the backyard

The summer of ’08 comes to an end and the last two weeks are simply gorgeous. True, heat waves are usually not that fun but we are fortunate enough to be close to the ocean so it cools off significantly during the night. I brought out my nearly dead iBook and figured out how to bypass the corrupted hard drive.

I installed Mac OS 10.4 on my old 4G iPod (once again thanks bro’ for this awesome gift back in ’04!) and using it as my start-up drive. All I need for surfing the web and posting blogs is Firefox and MarsEdit, my preferred stand alone blogging tool. Images and other related stuff I can pull of my 2 GHz iMac using a local network. It’s so easy to set up on a Mac!

Ah… the wine bottle reminds me to get another one for dinner. Isn’t life great?

    Twitter updates

In case you haven’t noticed: scroll to the bottom of this page to see my Twitter updates (below the cute little blue bird). I recently started using twitter again just because of the ease of us. We are even setting up twitter accounts for our clients! You can also follow me here.

So little time in a day…

So I guess I’m slacking with posting new entries. Well… there is just not enough time in a day lately to give my blog my fullest attention. Me an A. recently started attending Bikram Yoga classes. It was pretty hard in the beginning but it’s getting better and better. Sweating like a pig is actually nice! 90 minutes in a room of 105 degrees fahrenheit (41 C) will do that to you…

Other then that life is pretty hectic as it is. Too many things going on at the same time. I’m sure we’ll survive and for now I just have to bite the bullet. Work is pretty challenging as well but I love doing it. Some clients are just plain crazy (in a good way). Well, I guess this was my contribution for May (just kidding). More hopefully soon…
