This is going to be my year!

For some reason everything is falling in it’s place lately. My current projects are doing well and I have a good feeling about it. Maybe it’s because spring is getting closer and it’s this time of the year I enjoy the most. Maybe it’s because my birthday is coming up and it looks like A. is arranging a trip! Who am I kidding? It’s all of the above!

The projects I was talking about are promising. One of them is eightdegree. I started to optimize this website with amazing results. Find out about my web design and marketing studio. It actually took me a while to get this project up and running but it finally is taking some sort of form now.I very pleased with it.

My second project is pretty exciting as well. If you look around this website you might find a clue since I don’t want to talk much about it (yet). It’s still in development but I have high hopes about it. It’s another area I’m getting familiar with and it’s equally exciting as eightdegree. I’ll tell more about when the time is ready…

    SoloSEO: Do-It-Yourself SEO

I signed up with a free trial at SoloSEO and I must say that it’s pretty impressive SoloSEO is an online Project Management tool with the emphasis on SEO. for those not familiar with the term SEO:

“SEO is the active practice of optimizing a web site by improving internal and external aspects in order to increase the traffic the site receives from search engines. Firms that practice SEO can vary; some have a highly specialized focus, while others take a more broad and general approach. Optimizing a web site for search engines can require looking at so many unique elements that many practitioners of SEO (SEOs) consider themselves to be in the broad field of website optimization (since so many of those elements intertwine).”
(definition taken from SEOmoz’s beginner’s guide to SEO.)

Since I consider myself a newb to SEO, SoloSEO takes you a long way. It’s not as comprehensive as IBP but it doesn’t pretend to be. I really like the Competitive SEO Reports you can run. It gives you a great insight how your competitors are doing and what kind of action you need to take to improve your site.

Another great tool is the Link Build it! widget. It will instantly tell you the site’s backlinks, pagerank, DMOZ listings etc. Now I’m aware all these tools might be out there and free to use but SoloSEO put’s it all in one place.

For beginners like me or for people who don’t want to spend money on SEO it’s a great tool to get you started. Again, I’m having a test trial but like I said the first 5 days were pretty satisfying.
